Clean thoroughly
Wash off dirt, silage juices, and crop residues.
Pay attention to pivot points and hydraulic ram.
Let it dry fully to prevent rust.
Inspect for wear
Look for worn pivot pin.
Replace worn bushings or hydraulic hoses.
Lubrication
Grease all pivot points and hinge.
Apply protective spray/oil to exposed metal.
Hydraulic system check
Inspect hoses and fittings for leaks or cracks.
Retract rams fully, lightly oil chrome surfaces.
Store under cover
Keep in a dry shed if possible.
Keep off the ground
Rest on blocks, pallets, or stands.
Apply protective coating
Use light diesel/oil mix, wax oil, or anti-rust spray.
Hydraulic care
Don’t leave hoses connected to tractor.
Keep quick couplers clean and greased.
Paint touch-up
Sand and repaint chipped or worn areas.
